Telelogger Machines for NRDCL

Given its operational mandates, it is imperative for NRDCL to acquire and remain abreast with the evolving technologies for progressive delivery of services.

The company in 2015 has therefore, developed a phase-wise logging machinery replacement plan for five years (2015 to 2019) geared towards not only to replace the aged machines but also to address the shortage of machines in the field.

In implementing the logging machinery replacement plan, a cable crane set was procured in 2015 followed by two units of Telelogger (Log loader) in 2016. To effectively handle our field level activities in some of the most difficult working sites, the machineries have to be sturdy and are quite expensive. The two machines combined cost the company a sum of USD 156,500 (approximately Nu.10.4 million). The inaugural ceremony of these two new Teleloggers was graced by the Chief Executive Officer along with the senior staff of the company on 24th October 2016 at Ramtokto Service Center, Thimphu.

In view of log loader requirement and availability vis-a-vis operational site conditions of the respective regions, these two new machines are deployed under Rinpung and Jakar Regional Office, respectively. Similarly, NRDCL has plans to augment and upgrade its fleet of machineries in the coming future to improve efficiency.
